The Club offers many opportunities for Adults to play tennis – members can book a court directly and have the opportunity to play in our regular social sessions.
Regular coaching sessions are also available including pay and play sessions to help improve skills.
The club runs a ladder system to allow competitive singles play and also holds Club Championships as well as other regular tournaments through the year.
Torquay Tennis Club prides itself on being a club with a warm and welcoming club atmosphere.
The general feel around the club can be described as relaxing and equally vibrant, as we offer a mix of social activities.
These include invitational social doubles sessions, social afternoons and fun social tennis events.
As well as offering plenty of social tennis opportunities we also make use of our excellent clubhouse facility and host BBQ’S, Quiz and curry nights, Live Music events and we also encourage social get togethers amongst friends as part your daily visit to the club.
Our experienced coaching team offer a variety of coaching opportunities at the club.
We have pay and play sessions that are drop in sessions, which are great for those who just want to ‘give it a go’ or those who wish to drop in and out to suit their timetable.
We also offer adult squads, which is a series of tennis lessons set at regular days/times. These are put together to help those players of all ages and standards improve, with an emphasis on learning the correct techniques and tactics, within a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Tennis is a competitive game and therefore it is important that we give opportunities to our members to get that competition they desire. We have an active tennis singles ladder, whereby members are able to challenge one another to a fun but slightly serious tennis match. Players then move up and down the ladder accordingly striving to get to the top!!
We have Men’s and Ladies Teams, that represent the Club in the Devon and Exeter District Tennis League. This give members the opportunity to play competitive doubles against other Clubs and to enjoy socialising afterwards at different club venues.
There are also doubles social/competitive events held throughout the year, often with a theme or as a fund raiser, where members can enjoy some competition followed by a social get together at the club.
Finally, the Club hold an Annual Senior Club Championships each year, with many events that members can enter into. Following a Grand Finals Day, the Winners are then presented with Trophies and their names etched on the Club’s Honours board.

The Club offers adult members the ability to play in two arranged sessions – Thursday morning 11.30am – 1.00pm and Saturday afternoon 1.30pm – 3.00pm.
These sessions provide the opportunity to play tennis with fellow members during games of doubles while having fun and enjoying a friendly “social” atmosphere in the club.
Our coaches will help arrange for members to be in a four to ensure everyone involved gets a game during these sessions (trying to ensure players of a similar standard have an opportunity to play with each other).

What a bonus!!! These 2 mini tennis courts provide hours of entertainment for our little players. A chance to learn the game in a smaller, safe and colourful environment is fantastic. The Mini Tennis Red court size is the starting point for all our top juniors and follows the LTA Mini Tennis structure.
